Non-canon Makimodoshi Videos Rant

wakujournalThis may just be me, but I really don’t like most of them. The only ones I genuinely enjoyed and have even seen on repeat are the sandworm, mirror Chrono, and alien chupacabra ones (I might be a little biased because they all feature Akaba in a starring role lol). But a lot of these videos just…don’t sit right with me.
It’s kind of a shame, because “dividing” the “filler” and main story actually seemed like an interesting idea to me. If I were to confess what I hate about how it was executed, it would be the overly sexual content and the parodies of other media.
Now, I don’t have any problem with sexual content by itself, but the way it’s shown in the videos feels quite…tryhard. Yeah, that’s the word. It’s trying too hard to titillate. The fanservice also tends to hyperfocus on the (usually female) target of the mission, instead of the starring Rewinder, which makes it feel all the more cheap to me ngl.
For the parodies of other media, it also feels tryhard. I don’t know why, but it reminds me of those Elsagate channels that plaster Friday Night Funkin’ everywhere.
